Keyword Research Services – A Godsend Or A Rip Off?

Are you like me and struggle with keyword research? Actually I can find loads of keywords. My problem is finding good keywords.

I thought the data from Google’s keyword tool was always bang on. Why wouldn’t I? Big company like that shouldn’t be giving false figures. Well, that’s not always the case.

The data returned isn’t accurate. However it would have been when they collated it. I stumbled across the solution to this particular conundrum.

I was going for a keyword that had roughly five thousand competing pages. I felt I could do well with that one. So I set out putting articles out. Lots of articles.

Pretty soon I noticed over 9000 competitors. My heart sank, I thought my task was gonna be twice as hard now. It turned out that my articles were showing on these sites and ranking for the keyword.

The point I’m trying to get across is that had I looked at the keyword with 9000 competitors, I would have left it alone. As a lot of them were mine (or had my article on) I was competing against my self most of the time. A great result in the end for that key phrase.

Anyway, I decided to give a keyword research service a try as I couldn’t count on getting lucky every time. I was looking to get some decent keywords delivered on a daily basis. I calculated the cost of these services and concluded that they were value for money.

Of the keyword research services on offer I opted to try Travis Sago’s Instacash. Travis being at the top of the bum marketing pile. Bum marketing only costs my time so it’s my kind of marketing.

If I can get a keyword or two in my in box each day then that saves me valuable time. At least a two hour saving. Two hours or so to me is quite valuable. If I put the time saved up against the daily cost it shows clearly there’s value to be had.

I get a lot of emails from gurus banging on about outsourcing. I see this as an outsourcing project. Outsourcing my keyword research to someone else.
